The village's fiscal year starts on March 1st and ends the following February 28th (or 29th if it's a leap year). Budgeting starts in December on a staff level and is examined by the different committees in January and early February.

Committees make their recommendations to the Village Council in February. After a public hearing -- usually held in late February -- council votes on the upcoming fiscal year's budget.
