w Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Schuckel at 8:25AM
w Approval of Agenda: Motion by Smith, seconded by Schuckel to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried by voice vote.
w Approval of Minutes: Motion by Smith, seconded by Schuckel to approve the minutes of the August 2, 2006 meeting as presented. Motion carried by voice vote.
w Old Business
- Cemetery Rates: Committee agreed to leave them as they are. Committee accepted the list of the prepaid funerals by Mortensen Funeral Homes and no one else and Person will send him a letter.
w New Business
-Privatization of the Cemetery- After discussion we decided that this would not be the way to go.
-Ways to Cut costs- Talk to Mortensen about doing the grave openings, for all funerals in the Lakeview Cemetery. Committee will put together a contract, including repair of any ruts or damage done during openings and see if he will accept it. Additionally we discussed putting the cemetery out for bids to maintain. After much discussion the committee agreed to put out a bid for mowing and leaf pickup. Bidder would provide all their own equipment. This will be a trial for one year.
w Communication/Informational: Budget discussion – legal fees may be removed as we are not going to do privatization. Administration this year is more due to the new program updating the cemetery. Grave stone pictures should be in the next year.
