MEETING MINUTES
Call to Order: Chairperson Drollinger called Meeting to order at 8:35 AM.
Approval of Agenda:
Motion by Schuckel, seconded by Smith to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried with voice vote.
Approval of Minutes:
Motion by Schuckel to approve the minutes of the Feb. 21, 2006
w Old Business
- Budget for current and future years: Discussion on under billing of Forest Home and presentation of a budget and expenses and realize that we are still waiting for budget figures. Totals include the labor, which we can get from the auditors if need be. Some of the ways to save money and increase revenue would be to increase rates (Person will get examples from the list serve). We can look at the new hire doing the mowing, which will cut fringe benefits, Ken will look at what it actually costs to do the grave openings, look at changing the perpetual care fund and not put as much in it at this time. Discussion of buying more land, and committee felt that you couldn’t make money to pay for the cost of the upkeep on this property; it would just be more of a strain on the budget. Committee agreed when the lots were sold, we were full. Committee will ask the Council to stop the perpetual care fund as of March 1, 2006 and review the resolution at the second meeting of January each year. Ken will look at having the new hire Jim Smith take over mowing the cemetery as time permits to cut fringe costs. Discussion of some communities that charge a millage, and Person will put this out on the list serve.
- Cemetery Agreement: Review of some changes to the agreement. Smith will take a copy to his board. Smith agreed that two-year agreement should be okay, they are trying not to tie the hands of future boards.
w New Business
- Monument Repair: Save some money out of perpetual care that has currently not been deposited and reset the monuments as we can.
- Rules for Lakeview: Tabled until next meeting.
