Water system emergencies include loss of system pressure, inadequate quantities of water available, or chemical / bacteriological contamination. Notify MDEQ as specified in Act 399, the Michigan Safe Drinking Water Act.

Turn valves off at Durhan Street & Mound. This will isolate reservoir. Turn on well
regulate with pressure gauge at shop. Control pressure at hydrant by shop with
overflow going to drainage ditch.
B. Pumping Stations:
1) Identify location and capacity of pumps:
Well No. 1, 405 Division; Well No. 2, 310 First Street; Well No. 3, 312 First Street;
Well No. 1, 450 gpm; Well No. 2, 300 gpm; Well No. 3, 450 gpm.

Well No. 1 has stationary generator in building. Wells 2 & 3 have portable generators.

A general plan of the waterworks system should be included with this contingency plan. The general plan should include as a minimum: size, location, and type of water mains and location of valves and hydrants.
The contingency plan shall be located and distributed as necessary to assure effective use by all necessary waterworks personnel.
This plan shall be updated every _5_ years or as necessary.
